Finnish President Makes Visit to Kyiv for Talks
Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, confirmed Stubb’s arrival via Telegram, noting that discussions would cover European integration, security assurances for Kyiv, and new sanctions against Russia.
“We are grateful for the consistent and firm support of Finland and personally of Alexander Stubb,” Yermak emphasized.
At Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway station, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha joined Yermak in welcoming Stubb. Posting on the social media platform X, Sybiha applauded Finland’s unwavering support and leadership in the OSCE.
“We are grateful to Finland for its steadfast support, leadership in the OSCE, and principled position. We value President Stubb’s personal efforts and commitment,” Sybiha stated.
He further highlighted ongoing collaboration with international partners to “bring sustainable peace closer and guarantee security in Europe.”
The Finnish presidency announced that Stubb was accompanied by First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb, who is set to attend a summit led by Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska, focusing on “the role of education in promoting peace.”
