Two students pass away after Colorado shooting

(MENAFN) A shooting at a high school in Colorado on Wednesday resulted in the death of the student shooter and left two others in critical condition, according to reports.

Authorities stated the incident occurred at Evergreen High School shortly after midday. The injured students were rushed to a local hospital, with one still reported to be in critical condition. The suspected shooter, whose identity has not been released, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“I don't know if our suspect is even old enough to drive,” said a spokesperson from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Officials confirmed the suspect was armed with a revolver.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis expressed his sorrow over the tragedy, saying, “My heart goes out to the victims and their families as they grapple with this senseless act of violence.”

Following the incident, law enforcement deployed hundreds of officers to search the school campus thoroughly, checking each room to ensure safety, as stated by reports.
