Moscow Rejects Claims of Targeting Poland
(MENAFN) The Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow stated that its armed forces have not marked any objectives in Poland for long-range attacks. This response came after Warsaw alleged on Wednesday that several drones, which it identified as Russian, had entered its airspace.
The Ministry affirmed its willingness to engage in “consultations” with Polish defense authorities regarding the matter. It further asserted that the drones deployed during nighttime strikes on western Ukraine have a maximum range of 700 kilometers.
“There were no targets designated on Polish territory,” the ministry emphasized.
According to the statement, the overnight strikes were directed at several military-industrial complexes in western Ukraine.
The Russian forces reportedly hit a tank factory and an aircraft facility in the city of Lviv, along with additional sites in the Ivano-Frankovsk, Khmelnitsky, and Zhitomir regions.
These facilities were said to be involved in producing long-range drones, as well as manufacturing and repairing armored vehicles and combat aircraft.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared that the nation’s armed forces recorded 19 distinct violations of its airspace overnight, calling the event a “provocation” by Russia.
He noted that up to four drones were intercepted and brought down. The Prime Minister further asserted that the aircraft had entered Polish airspace from Belarus, not Ukraine.
